Olivier is high-strung due to the constant agitation he has from Roland's impropriety as a chasseur. He is quick to anger towards Roland and is constantly frustrated at his inability to temper Roland's wilfulness.

Olivier hunts down Roland Fortis in Mira's laboratory, and finds him investigating vampiric history in her library. After learning about Roland's change of heart towards vampires, Olivier warns him about the possible consequences to his family should their superiors discover his newfound beliefs. In response, Roland threatens the Chasseurs and Olivier, to the latter's annoyance.[1]
